Meet Dr. Tara Egan
I hold a doctorate in school psychology and I have specialized training in counseling and family-school relations. I’ve worked in public schools, private schools, and mental health centers, and I established Charlotte Parent Coaching, LLC in 2011.
I’ve worked as an adjunct professor in the undergraduate psychology department at two colleges, and I'm the author of two books; Better Behavior for Ages 2-10 (Lesson Ladder, 2013) and Adolescence: A Parent's Guide (Rockridge Press, 2020).
I co-host a parenting podcast called "One Day You'll Thank Me" with my teenage daughter, Anna. I have nearly 20 years of experience in this field, and I'm dedicated to my clients and their families.
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Education: State University of NY at Geneseo.
Master of Arts in School Psychology: George Mason University.
Doctor of Education in School Psychology: Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
As much as I strongly identify as a therapist and business woman, I am most proud of my role as parent. I have two biological kids--a son and a daughter. I also have 4 stepchildren, three of whom are grown adults, and one who is in high school.
Anna, my teen daughter, is my cohost on our parenting podcast, "One Day You'll Thank Me." Dylan, the middle schooler, often voices our ads and occasionally pops in for a guest appearance.
Pete and I married in 2015 and we have a blended family that includes SIX kids. Three of them, whom we call "the littles," still live at home and we share custody with our ex-spouses.
We also have two dogs and two cats, all of whom treat each other terribly and manipulate us into opening the back door 1000x per day. Our furry family members are often featured on our Instagram and Facebook page.
